Football legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are record breakers, but there are some feats which are just out of their reach.

We are not looking at comical records that involve teams but rather personal records which these players can never break or get close to.

Messi and Ronaldo
Here are six records Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo can never break;

1. Fastest red card in football

Cross Farm Park Celtic striker Lee Todd, who was sent off just two seconds into a game back in October 2000 for using foul language. It would be the worst thing to happen in football if any of those two get a red card within two seconds.

2. Most own goals scored by a single player in a game

Please don't tell me you see Messi and Ronaldo defending and scoring three own goals in a single game. In 1995, Stan Van Den Buys scored three own goals in one match while playing for Germinal Ekeren.

According to legend,  infamous match between AS Adema and Stade Olympique L'Emyrne in October 2002 produced the most own goals.  The game finished 149-0 to Adema after SOE deliberately scored 149 own goals in protest at a refereeing decision. The goalscorers' names have been lost in the mists of time but as the captain Mamisoa Razafindrakoto, the goalkeeper Dominique Rakotonandrasana, Manitra Andrianaina and Rakotoarimanana Tolojanahary were the four players suspended by the Madagascan FA.

3. Most goals scored in an official match

The current world record for an international is held by Archie Thompson, who scored 13 goals against American Samoa in Australia's 31–0 victory during the 2002 FIFA World Cup qualification.

Even San Marino would not allow that many goals to be scored against them by one player.

4. Most goals by a single player in a single World Cup

Just Fontaine scored 13 goals in one FIFA World Cup tournament back in 1958 and it just seems unlikely that record will ever be broken. By the time the 2018 World Cup rolls by, Messi would be 31 and Ronaldo 33...we just don't think they would be able to beat Fontaine's record.

5.  Most goals scored by a goalkeeper in a career

Rodrigo Ceno scored more than 150 goals in his career (mostly from free kicks and penalties) and we just don't Messi and Ronaldo doing the same. Why? Cos they aren't goalkeepers.

6. Most yellow cards received in a season

Mark Hughes, Lee Cattermole Paul Ince and Robbie Savage have all received 14 yellow cards in one season and it seems far fetched that out legendary duo will do the same.
