Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk has been named Champions League Player of the week after his incredible display for his side against Tottenham in UCL final.

Van Dijk was in superb form for Liverpool in the Champions League final blocking Son and Harry Kane from scoring in an encounter which ended 2-0 in favor of Jurgen Klopp's men.
His performance against Spurs has now earned him an award from the UEFA governing body who took to social media to announce the name of Virgil Van Dijk.

Virgil Van Dijk was not only superb in the Champions League final, but he was spectacular throughout the championship from the group stages.
He caged the duo of Lionel Messi and Suarez in the Champions League semifinal second leg which Liverpool won 4-0 at Anfield.

Dijk has also been tipped to win the 2019 Ballon d'Or award, and will face serious competition from Barcelona star Lionel Messi who was also superb at the out-gone season.
